Our Philosophy
Surrey Swim School's philosophy is that swimming can be learnt through structured, planned lessons with friendly, caring teachers. Swimming is a life-saving skill and can also be the beginning of many enjoyable water experiences such as scuba diving, wind surfing or water ski-ing. Our main goal is for swimmers to enjoy the water.
Our Teachers
All teachers who work for Surrey Swim School are A.S.A. qualified with relevant rescue tests and CRB checks. They are enthusiastic about their teaching, well organised and very approachable. They offer structured, planned lessons in a friendly, caring environment. Each
term all Surrey Swim School swimmers receive a Progress Report.
Our Lessons
Surrey Swim School follows the National Teaching Plan for Swimming which assists our teachers to organise progressive lessons for the swimmers. It is a recognised teaching plan that is used throughout the county and is based on sound technical and educational principles.
Our Venues
Surrey Swim School's teaching venues are Greenacre School, Banstead, St John´s School, Leatherhead and Royal Alexandra and Albert School, Gatton Park, Reigate.
Babies and Pre-School
Once babies have completed their course of immunisations they can join the Parent and Baby Class and enjoy becoming water friendly with others through games and songs feeling secure and safe with a parent/adult.
Pre-School
Small classes help the transition from being in the pool with an adult to being in the pool independently.
Non-Swimmer to Advanced Swimmer
Classes are for 5 years onwards and have 10 different stages of achievement.
Personalised Swim Fitness Plans
Classes for adults and any children who can swim and want to keep fit. Sessions can be 30 minutes or 1 hour where technique and stamina can be improved.
One-to-One Lessons
Individual instruction can be arranged for any of the above aims.
Child Safeguarding
Surrey Swim School is a member of the ASA Swim School Scheme and follows the British Swimming & the ASA Child Safeguarding Policy and Procedures. Click here to view the policy and procedures.
